I've been taking cycle classes at the gym?
and my legs are getting BIGGER. Do cyclist usually get big thighs and calves? To be honest, I'm not to happy with it, I thought my legs would slim down. Also, how many calories do you thing a 140 pnd women would burn in an hour, at high intensity levels?
Usually your legs will end up getting smaller. I guess it might be possible if you are working at high intensity after not exercising them much that muscle development will beat out fat burning to make them a bit bigger, but I would expect them to go down and just be toned after a bit.
My legs look different, but not bigger than before I cycled. Just alot stronger.
Try spinning at a faster rate with less resistance to keep your heartrate at the target. Huge resistance levels would be more like Weight Lifting, which could make you bulk up. But I wouldn't worry too much.
Here's a source for calories burned info..
